Despite the rain some 300 pilgrims gathered at Aylesford Priory on 29th September to celebrate St Thérèse's Feast Day.  The day began with a Welcome Service led by Canon John Udris from Oscott Seminary.  At the start of the service, Canon John blessed the prayer banner made up of the intention slips sent in by hundreds of Little Flower Society members.  Following some readings from St. Thérèse,  Canon John gave an enlightening talk on the Little Flower based on four "Ts":  Trust, Thanks, Truth and Today.

After lunch, the Blessing of the Roses took place.  In previous years, this has always been held around the Statue of St Thérèse in the grounds of the Priory, but it was felt that the ground was too wet from the rain during the preceding days.  The short service therefore took place in the Relic Chapel.   Mass was then concelebrated by Canon John and Fr Kevin Alban, O.Carm., Prior Provincial of the British Province and Chair of the Trustees of the Society of the Little Flower.  The offertory procession was led by the ladies from two branches of the Little Flower Society who always provide a colourful aspect to the service.
