The Magdelan Wellness Center and Integrated Farm

This project is based at the Mount Carmel Monastery in Escalente City, Negros Occidental and is a venue for the Carmelite Friars and the Magdelan farm community to experience healing  and reconciliation of self through an organic sustainable farm.

Some of the land in use has been developed for pasture (cows and water buffalo); vegetables, corn, root crops for the Center, the school and local parish communities occupy another portion.  The orchard has been planted with a variety of fruit trees providing an additional source of income for both the Carmelite and the farm community.  In addition to the cows and water buffalo, chickens, ducks, pigs and goats are also raised.

Alongside all the hands-on work, there are seminars and training sessions.
